LAFAYETTE BALLET
Lafayette Ballet Company is a small pre-professional group of committed young dancers. We concentrate on teamwork, performance integrity, and enhancing classroom skills with challenging new works, traditional repertoire and pieces tailored to showcase the talents of our current dancers. For 30 years pre-pandemic we have presented an annual full length Nutcracker. The future is uncertain in the arts. Fewer people are willing to commit to the schedule of training and involvement. We nurture the talents and aspirations of those who do. Lafayette Ballet is a registered Not-For-Profit 501(c)3 organization in the State of Indiana.

A special note about this performance: for 2 years we have been planning major renovations in the technical aspects of the lighting in our ballroom. It has come to pass. Also the bill. If you would like to donate to our LIGHT THE BALLROOM CAMPAIGN - it is a fine time to show your appreciation for our free concerts. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE:
THE PIED PIPER is based on the medieval legend from Hamelin, Germany. A "pied" meaning dressed in multiple colors piper is hired to lure the mice away from the town. The children follow along for the fun, and only return when the piper is rightfully paid for his work.
Our version include adorable mice, lovingly danced sheep, the very opinionated ladies of the burg, the children and the piper herself along with her cat. The music is a collection of Beethoven minuets, dances, and short pieces.

INTERMISSION_ 20 MINUTES
AIR EARTH WATER FIRE, is a ballet of the formation of the elements to the music of Tchaikovsky. It is a strong neoclassical piece with a pristine beauty.

We hope to see you at the performance, and that you keep a spring evening for the celebration of our talented dancers and the mission that they share of beauty, humor, musicality and integrity. You must reserve ahead as there is limited seating. Reservations for each performance are limited to 5 per person and will be closed when we reach our seating capacity.
A word about downtown parking. There is actually a fair amount of parking downtown, but the most obvious spots close to 226 N 6th Street are often taken in the evening for restaurants, theatre events, and residents. Please check the map and locate some reasonable places so you don't get caught driving in circles and arrive late.
