NEWSLETTER NEW YEAR 2026

Dear Students and Parents.

WOW! What fun we had! What a triumph of performance to tell a story with conviction and joy, entertain an audience, and gain such acknowledgement of the power of rehearsal and teamwork. What a boost of confidence to a group of young students who have grown up thinking that entertainment was to be streamed from a box onto the screen rather than gather in the depths of their imagination and body to break forth in energy and application of technique.

This has been a powerful motivation, and we hope that it carries through the summer to our start on Aug. 17 in the fall. We will put up our class schedule and registration soon!

We appreciate the enthusiasm and cooperation we received from many of you.

We will also be having an intensive 2 weeks in early August_ Aug 3-8 and Aug 10-15 for Elementary levels up. That information will be posted soon as well.

Have a wonderful summer filled with carefree days, new horizons or interests, summer reading, and family sharing.

ATTENTION: YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO PUBLISH ANY FOOTAGE OF THIS REHEARSAL ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR MEDIA SHARING SITES. THIS IS NOT PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT OR AI FODDER. YOUR CHILDREN'S PERFORMANCE EFFORTS SHOULD NOT BE ON CLOUD SITES TO BE DOWNLOADED BY ANYONE AT A LATER DATE. LAFAYETTE BALLET SCHOOL, AND LAFAYETTE BALLET COMPANY GUARD THE PRIVACY OF THE STUDENTS.

We will be doing some demonstration classes in the Ballroom so that you can see the work that produces the performances. Please let us know if you and your student wish to continue class these last 2 weeks, or if you have other obligations in the busy month of May which take priority. We will be doing a small, informal showcase on May 21 the last day of classes. This is only specific students or groups, and your student is not obligated to participate. But if you wish to come and observe, you will see the efforts of small ensembles, classical variations, and fledgling pointe dancers.

Please all Elementary students: Check the Rehearsal page regularly because we cannot set choreography in your regular classes. Your name has already appeared. Those who understand and work on this choreography will have more dancing and more involvement.

Stay well, stay involved, stay dancing, and be excited.

Our Ballroom grows in its technical capaciities. It is exciting. We try to make videos available after the fact, and music copyrights sometimes make pieces of these offerings less than satisfactory, but we try. For these reasons the performance videos are coded on YOUTUBE as UNLISTED. They cannot be searched through the Youtube indexing system. The Ice Queen has not yet been edited into video but it will be in the coming weeks.

Both performance videos of the Spring 2025 performance are available as Youtube viewing.

I have been re-invigorated by the energy and interest of our students. Ballet is not easy. But it will create a love for life of long term goals, beauty, team-work, and communication. It does not go away, this yearning for something beautiful and meaningful. Try to encourage your dancer, and keep the fall full of energy and caring.

EMAIL your interest or your questions.
We hope that you have a re-invigorating spring.

Thank you. Sandra Peticolas, Director
