The Huntington High School – Class of 1963 website’s primary purpose is communication. It will allow the class officers and committees to provide information to alumni; and it will provide a way for alumni to easily communicate with class officers and committees.
Additionally the website will become a historical record for class events, activities and information.
In the future the website could easily be expanded to enable registration for events such as reunions, purchase of memorabilia, exchange of information via Bulletin Boards and real-time communications via Chat Rooms.
The initial website will have primary pages of Home Page, Feedback Page and Search Page. The Home Page will have nine child pages, some of which will themselves have child pages.
All pages will have a ‘theme’ and will have a 1960’s song associated with the theme. The song will be delivered in .wav files which, although low on quality, allow rapid downloading – especially over dial-up connections.
1 Home Page
The Home Page will welcome visitors and be an index into the other pages. It will also highlight any new or important information.
1.1 Changes
The Changes Page will have a chronological list of significant web site changes. It will also have link to technical and design information about the web site including this document.
1.2 News
The News Page will have information and announcements from any media sources. If there are numerous items they may each have a child page under this parent page. The News Page will also have links to old news items.
1.3 Activities
The Activities Page will have information on all past and present class activities except reunions. If there are numerous items they may each have a child page under this parent page.
1.4 Reunions
The Reunion Page will have announcements and details of upcoming reunions and links to other pages with write-ups and photos of previous reunions.
1.5 Library
The Library Page will have original articles and other writing or photos by alumni.
1.6 Study Hall
The Study Hall page will have Discussion Groups.
1.7 Modulus
The Modulus Page will have a digital copy of the 1963 Modulus Yearbook.
1.8 Swing Inn
The Swing Inn Page will have a listing of top ten songs and links to sites with music of the 1960’s.
1.9 Alumni
The Alumni Page will have a listing by name of all Huntington High School 1963 alumni. This page will have several child pages containing more detailed information about alumni. These detail pages will be password-protected. If the alumnus desires, their name will be linked to their own separate page with contact and other details.
2 Feedback
The Feedback Page will provide visitors a means of communicating with the class officers and webmasters.
3 Search
The Search Page will provide a facility for visitors to the web site to search the site with keywords to locate specific information.
The domain name will be HHS1963.org. It will be administrated by DirectNic.com.
See Appendix A for details.
The website host will be Cheap-Web-Site-Hosting.com.AU.
The package used is GROWING. See Appendix B for details.
The package can be easily upgraded when required.
The primary software used will be Microsoft FrontPage© Versions 2002 and 2003.
Third-party MS FrontPage extensions (such as FrontLook©) may be used where appropriate.
The initial development and maintenance will be performed by the two initial Webmasters:

The site will be backed-up by both the hosting service (Cheap-Web-Site-Hosting.com.AU) and by the Webmasters on their local PCs.
