This stout wicker basket is stained brown, and the rest is a frame-work of bamboo, the ends of which are capped with metal.  The basket has a lid which is cushioned and covered at the sides with wool plush.  the scarf thrown over the top is attached to the front edge of the lid, opposite the hinged side, fastened on the cushion, and hangs at the back, which is the side exposed to view; hence it is no hindrance to raising the lid.
