Roman Berke

  Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the George Boom Funeral Home for Roman H. Berke, 77 of 705 S. Fable Ave.

  He died in a local hospital Wednesday.

  Mr. Berke was born January 25, 1891 at Britton.  He moved to the Montrose area at age 4 and attended the South Dakota School for the Deaf in Sioux Falls.  He worked with his father as a flour mill engineer at Montrose and Britton before moving to Sioux Falls in 1940?? He retired from the laundry department at the Sheraton Contract Motor Inn in 1956.

   His marriage to Florence Gertrude Stearns took place August 19, 1914 at Manley Minnesota.  She died in September 1967.

  He is survived by four sons, Willis, Sacramento Calif.: Donald, Wyoming Mich.: Clark, Brighton Mich.: Jerrold, Sioux Falls:  a daughter, Mrs. William Helenbrand (Hildebrand), Huron: 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Veronica Zimmer, Sioux Falls.
