Mrs. Mary Sullivan, Long

Resident of Montrose

Is Illness Victim

   Mrs. Mary E. Sullivan, 87, pioneer of the Montrose vicinity, died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.A Tennyson, 517 North Walts Ave.  Death was due to the the infirmities of age and followed a long period of poor health.

   Mrs. Sullivan lived in Sioux Falls since 1917, coming here from Montrose where the family settled on a farm in 1881.  Mrs. Sullivan was born Mary E. Kane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kane at Morristown, Wis. August 15, 1885.

  She was married at Morristown, October 25. 1873.  Her husband died April 25, 1935.

  Surviving are three sons:  Eugene of Montrose: D.E. of Vermillion, and William of Sioux Falls:  five daughters: Mrs. Ed Healy and Mrs. Tennyson of Sioux Falls: Mrs. W. J. Anderson, Pierre:  Mrs. Will Healy, Montrose and Mrs. Harry Kellogg Brookings:  33 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

   Funeral mass will be conducted at St. Joseph's Cathederal at 10 a.m. Tuesday.  Pallbearers will be Fred Kell Kellogg, Joseph Tennyson, Ray Healy, Ed Naughton and Leo Heisler, Grandsons and Dan Kane nephew

  The body was taken to the Tennyson residence this forenoon and St. Michael's school society will meet at that place at 8 p.m. for Rosary services with the Woman's Catholic Order of Foresters meeting for similar services at 8:30 p.m.

  Burial will be in the Montrose cemetery.
