Ted Chapman

Raymond E. "Ted" Chapman, age 82, co-founder of Aglaiad Temple in the south suburbs of Chicago,  passed over on Thursday evening November 27th, 2008  Ted was a leader and member of the Chicagoland Pagan Community for over 30 years. Ted was a WWII Army Veteran, beloved husband of the late Gloria; loving father of Grey Randall "Randy" (Barbara) Chapman, Keith Carey Chapman, Eileen Patricia "Melody" (Lloyd) Ennis and the late Mary Kay Hildebrandt; dear grandfather of five; fond brother of Harlley McKean and Sharon Patish. Ted loved the opera and baseball. Ted was a long-time umpire for semi-pro, minor league, collegiate, and high school baseball. Wake  at: Colonial Chapel Funeral Home 15525 73rd Avenue (155th/Wheeler West of Harlem Ave.) Orland Park, IL Visitation from: 3pm to 9pm on Tues. Dec. 2nd, 2008 Private funeral services at the Colonial Chapel at 10am on Wednesday, Dec. 3rd, 2008. Interment private, Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery.

Bernie Kazlauskas

...was a great teacher and elder in the Chicago Romuva (Lithuanian Paganism) community as well as the greater pagan community. He also, with his wife Char, ran a store in NW Indiana. He was a great friend and someone that looked up as Seniunas and friend...even a father figure in some ways. This comes as a total shock to us as we just saw him on the 2nd for the Velines celebration. There was no indication that anything was wrong. Please send your love and hugs to Char and thier 2 children. This a great loss both to the community and personally. He will be sorely missed. We are still in shock over his loss...--Rev. Eric Roberts This is from Char, wife of Gintautas Bernardas Kazlauskas (Bernie) who was the Romuva USA/Canada Chicago Seniunas (Elder)... "With tears in my eyes, I write this email. My best friend and love of my life went suddenly to distant Dausa this morning. Gintautas Bernardas Kazlauskas, the Romuva USA/Canada Chicago Seniunas was only 53. Born in Siberia after WW2, he was able visit Lietuva only three times in life. He died a staunch Lithuanian and Romuvietis. Burial will be at St Casimirs Lithuanian Cemetary in Chicago. Final arrangements have not been been made Believe it will be on Saturday. Will post in Draugas Newspaper or you can call or email me.
