The Catfish Hunter Memorial League (CHML) is a continuous ownership, full AIM organization of 20 teams structuring into two 10-team leagues with two 5-team divisions in each. The George Steinbrenner League does not employ the DH. The Charlie Finley League employs the DH. During the regular season there is no inter-league play. The CHML regular season runs concurrently with the MLB season and consists of 26 weekly series.
The CHML maintains player ownership through a Contract/Free Agency system under which drafted players come with assignable contract years that may be allocated among a team’s newly drafted players. Prior to each season there are two drafts: a Free Agent and a Rookie/ Replacement draft. Details are included on the website and the Constitution.
The CHML's first season was 2005. It migrated to BBW v5.75 for its 8th season (2012 season disk) and has migrated to BBW v6.1 for its 2025 season. It numbers its seasons according to the APBA season disk. There is no entry or participation fee for the CHML; owners are, however, required to purchase the BBW game and current season disk from APBA.
