1895 Tailor Costume of Checked Wool

37 Bust - 25 Waist

The model was of green and white checked homespun, ornamented with small greenish pearl buttons.  The buttons stud the stitched edges of the front breadth and of a shield shaped piece put on outside the waist.

1895 House Gown for Elderly Lady

40 Bust - 27 Waist

The model illustrated is a Princesse gown of foulard, having a black ground flowered in violet, with the front opening on a plastron and petticoat of violet.  It has a separate round foundation skirt of lining silk faced at the middle of the front with the trimming silk, with a thick ruche at the foot.  Pattern consists of vest, gown and foundation skirt.
