- Jurisdiction - Objects
Sec.
1. This Organization shall be known
as Local Union ______
of the International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers, (City)_______________,
(State) _________________.
Local _____ shall have jurisdiction over (Classifications)______________
work, as defined in Article XXVI, Section(s)_________________,
of the IBEW Constitution, when performed ___________________.
However, the right of the International President
to change this jurisdiction is recognized as
provided for in the IBEW Constitution.
Sec.
2. The objects of this Local Union shall
be to promote by all proper means the material
and intellectual welfare of its members.

3. Local Union _________ shall cover
the ___________type(s) of membership.

Sec.
1. Jurisdiction is assigned only by
the International President in conjunction
with the International Vice President in the
District in which the local union is located.
The bylaws will define the jurisdiction either
geographically or by employer, as the case
may be.
Jurisdiction in Cable Television, Electrical
Manufacturing, Radio-Television Broadcasting,
Telephone, and Utility is granted based on
approved current labor agreements on file in
the International Office. The employers are
listed under each category in Section 1; and
if no current agreements are on file, the jurisdiction
may be deleted.
Sec. 2. The local
union may supplement the basic provisions with
additional OBJECTS provided they are not in
conflict with the policies or Constitution
of the IBEW. Please refrain from repetition
of the OBJECTS written in the Constitution
since it is a part of all bylaws and applicable
to all local unions.
Sec. 3. The type
of membership covered by a local union is dictated
by the classifications in the local union’s
collective bargaining agreements and requires
the approval of the International President.
