Sec. 1. This Organization shall be known as Local Union ______ of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, (City)_______________, (State) _________________. Local _____ shall have jurisdiction over (Classifications)______________ work, as defined in Article XXVI, Section(s)_________________, of the IBEW Constitution, when performed ___________________. However, the right of the International President to change this jurisdiction is recognized as provided for in the IBEW Constitution.

Sec. 2. The objects of this Local Union shall be to promote by all proper means the material and intellectual welfare of its members.

Sec. 3. Local Union _________ shall cover the ___________type(s) of membership.

Sec. 1. Jurisdiction is assigned only by the International President in conjunction with the International Vice President in the District in which the local union is located. The bylaws will define the jurisdiction either geographically or by employer, as the case may be.

Jurisdiction in Cable Television, Electrical Manufacturing, Radio-Television Broadcasting, Telephone, and Utility is granted based on approved current labor agreements on file in the International Office. The employers are listed under each category in Section 1; and if no current agreements are on file, the jurisdiction may be deleted.

Sec. 2. The local union may supplement the basic provisions with additional OBJECTS provided they are not in conflict with the policies or Constitution of the IBEW. Please refrain from repetition of the OBJECTS written in the Constitution since it is a part of all bylaws and applicable to all local unions.

Sec. 3. The type of membership covered by a local union is dictated by the classifications in the local union’s collective bargaining agreements and requires the approval of the International President.
